Top Posts of 2022
2022 represented a significant change for Catalyst. After 14 years of functioning as an expression of one family’s generosity and vision, Catalyst became an independent consulting firm. There’s been a lot of learning, a few mistakes, and some successes in working out this transition.
The most popular Insights from LeadWithCatalyst.com this year have been:
A Lawyer Responds… where Ian Brisbin offered his perspective as both a practicing lawyer and an experienced charity Director on my previous post about why charity leaders hesitate to contact lawyers and what we should do about it.
Revising Vision about a lesson I was taught about how the traditional terminology of Mission/Vision/Values may be reflect an outmoded and colonial approach. I said I would change my practice to use Our Dream/Our Path/Our Promise as preferred terms. I must confess I haven’t done that consistently and I need this reminder to do so.
Movements and Manipulators that reflects on how easily popular causes can be derailed by the very type of energy that drives them. And why sometimes the risk is worth it.
New Favourite Philosopher where a clever meme reflects a deeper need for many leaders to consider their priorities and whether everything really requires A+ effort.
And, perhaps the post I’ve personally shared most has been Executive Leadership Teams Program that describes the new opportunity for charity leaders to grow into healthier teams with ongoing training and support, and a generous offsetting grant that covers the majority of the fee. I’d love to talk with you about whether the time is right for you to invest in this kind of professional development.
Thanks for reading along. As always, if there’s anything I can do help develop Healthy Leaders and a Healthy Organization in your charity I’d love to connect.
